The ConnVAS MAGIC-Detect is a very attractive solution for many scenarios, including a passive detection solution for RRFB retrofits, making the upgrade of any existing RRFB much easier and more affordable. In cases where the customer would like to keep the existing RRFB solution in place and just upgrade to passive detection, this could be a very good fit.
The following figure described the system. It is solar powered, stand alone, and may include also additional illumination to the RRFBs. It includes passive detection activation. Vocal + visual alerts toward the peds and optional analytics of the crosswalk, including short videos
